Another ‘Help for Heroes’ event

Adams Catering Hire were once again pleased to contribute to another successful event held in aid of  ‘Help for Heroes‘.

Aitch Group organised a Charity Gala Dinner & Dance at Chigwell Hall on Saturday 11th September 2010.  Held in the marquee in the grounds of this beautiful old building, guests were entertained in true old fashioned style.

It all started with a Full Military Tattoo and champagne reception and followed by a superb menu prepared by local Caterers, Ashbys and with a signature dish that was created by Anthony Worral-Thompson.

Music was provided by Bootleg Beatles and a celebrity compere entertained everyone immensely.

Aiming to  raise £125,000 for two very worthy charities:  ‘The Rifles Regimental Trust: Care for Casualties Appeal’ and ‘The Warrior Programme’, the event was a great way to do it.

Proceeds from the Help the Heroes gala will benefit ‘The Rifles Regiment Care For Casualties Appeal’ and ‘The Warrior Programme’.

An Auction was held and there was even a tank up for auction.

The Garden Museum

The Garden Museum, ‘one of London best small museums’ says The Daily Telegraph.

Situated by the River Thames and next to Lambeth Palace, The Garden Museum provides the perfect location for wedding receptions, corporate events and dinners.

The Museum’s garden provides a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of central London and is an ideal setting for a pre-dinner drinks reception or a barbeque and Adams Catering Hire continues to provide equipment for the many Caterers recommended by the Museum

The Garden’s focal point is the beautiful 17th Century inspired knot garden, which creates the perfect romantic setting for wedding photography.

The Thames Revival celebrates vintage glamour, classic boats and the golden days of sailing.

For one weekend only, enjoy the opportunity to step back in time by entering St Katharine Docks to marvel at a full display of historic vessels, and get into the spirit of things by dressing to suit your favourite maritime era. Admire hearty fishing smacks, rub gunwales with the finest racing yachts, and hear the tooting of a steam tug as it punctuates the silky purrings of upriver motor launches.

In Centre Basin there are all sorts of things to watch, from a ‘Row of War’ to boating demonstrations. Ashore, you can find a variety of maritime stalls displaying traditional things such as boat-building skills, or take the time to soak up the atmosphere in one of the many bars and restaurants with waterside view.

Two boats in particular have made epic voyages to arrive at the Thames Festival and should not be missed. The Fryderyk Chopin, the biggest sailing boat of its type in the world, will be moored at St Katharine’s Pier having set sail from Poland in June. And artist Filip Jonker will sail into port from the Netherlands in De Furie, the first man to make the journey in a tugboat made entirely from cardboard.

Stalls and activities include the following:

Try an Oyster Stall

Wood Carving Stall

Paper Boat Race Stall

Rope Making Stall

Deck Quoits

Revival Info Stall

Vintage Clothing Stall

Customer Service – good, bad or indifferent?

Customer service is it a skill that can be taught or is it a natural skill?

My view is that it is a natural skill, the basics can be taught & learnt but a true master has it built in. It is an understanding of what a client needs, not necessarily what they want but getting them to bow to your advice as a professional in your field and knowing that it is not money or convenience that is advising them but a true belief and knowledge of what is best. A good rule of thumb is ‘treat everyone as you yourself would wish to be treated’. It is waht Adams Catering Equipment & Furniture Hire is all about.

A Good Company should advise,  not push, try to educate & help with their knowledge.

Adams Client Advisors have over 25 years of experience in the Events Industry, front of house and back and love chatting about your next event. We love to hear that it went well and take it personally if things don’t run smoothly, that’s why we are the Number 1 choice for many Caterers.

Why don’t you call us, see what we can offer you and how we can help you make your life easier. After all, that is what we are here for.
