On Sunday 15th August, Adams Catering Equipment & Furniture Hire held a Charity Hog Roast in aid of ‘Help for Heroes’ and despite the poor weather we all had a great time.
The food was provided by Simply Fine Foods, a well established Caterer offering a bespoke service for corporate and private clients alike. Whether it is catering for a corporate lunch, a barbecue or a private dinner party, their aim is to ensure that everything they provide – the food, the wines and the service – add that essential ingredient to make your event a complete success. Tel; 020 8787 7043. The hog roast was absolutely fabulous with everyone going back for more.
A much needed marquee was also set up by Mannys Marquees who specialise in providing marquees for all occasions, large or small, corporate or private. Whatever the size of your event they have the solution.
For the entertainment, a close up magician enthralled everyone and he even managed to make a diamond ring disappear (we got it back). A jazz band, a chocolate fountain and much more kept guests amused for the afternoon. Each and everyone donated to this very worthy cause and we even had a real life ‘hero’ in our midst as one of the girls brought along a soldier friend who is just back from his tour of duty. Kim Rix (Kim Rix wedding photography) came along to take the photos of the day and capture some of the magic moments we all enjoyed.
One of the great things we found on our search was printed roses, yes, real roses printed with your message. We had beautiful long stemmed red roses with the imprint ‘Help for Heroes – Sunday 15th August 2010′ on ours but you could have anything put on. British Speaking Roses is the company and they provided us with petals to decorate as well. Such a good service – quick delivery. http://www.britishspeakingroses.com
Adams Catering Hire was pleased to have been able to contribute in a small way to help such a worthy cause and if you need any help in organising your next event or you need furniture hire, give us a call and we will be so pleased to be able to help.
“It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes.”
I met up with Manny, from Mannys Marquees at my house last night to measure up the garden for the marquee his Company are kindly sponsoring for my party on Sunday. I looked at his portfolio of events he has provided marquees for and he some some pretty impressive photos. I’m going to use the marquee for the Bar Area and fill it with lovely scented candles and my crystal chairs.
Adrian at Simply Fine Foods who are doing the catering are giving me a smashing bar to make it really look smart, its the perspex and metal type with a pink lit up area. I am looking forward to this weekend immensely. Adrian is cooking up a great array of food for my guests and I have also arranged a chocolate fountain to finish it all off.
I also met up with Kim Rix from Your London Wedding Planner today and she was telling me how she likes to dabble in photography, so guess what? I invited her along to take some semi-professional shots of the day. So my photos to put on our site should really make a show.
My guest list is getting longer and longer and more people want to come. What do I do? But it is all for ‘Help for Heroes’ and I am hoping the weather is kind to me. Everyone has said they are looking forward to the day as my parties are always such good fun. I am getting so big headed.
As you can see, take a simple venue, add all the right ingrediants and see what a difference it makes.
Just colour and a simple theme sets the scene for a great event.
Food was provided by Easy Gourmet Catering.
Venue was Tab Centre.
