BBQ food

English weather must be the most talked about subject.  Will it be hot, will it rain, can we expect snow this winter.  And the weather forecasts are not forecasts but guesswork sometimes.  I can hear it in my head,  ‘and the weather for tomorrow is – sunny, with perhaps showers from the east. Maybe a slight westerly breeze which may cause it to cloud over later’.  Does that sound familiar?

Anyway, summer’s coming and it is BBQ time whatever the weather and what better way than to use a professional gas BBQ. Cinders are possibly the leading UK manufacturers of barbecues and at Adams Catering Hire, they are the only ones we supply.  Renowned for their reliability and ease of use, they are sturdy and give the right impression and do the job exceptionally well. Powered by propane gas they can be sited anywhere in the garden, gas can be supplied when you hire from Adams. Gas barbecues win every time for their ability to control the flames and temperature of the heat.

All food is great for barbecue food, but you do have to make sure that the food is cooked through thoroughly. My favourite is fish and it is so easy, just wrap in foil, add some lime juice and a few herbs, oh its so good.  But, my children love all the burgers and sausages that I can cook. To give food flavour, I always marinade mine the night before and you can use so many different herbs, spices, yoghurts and even supermarket mixes these days to add a smokey flavour.  Lots of healthy salads and what a great day can be had by all. Chuck in some wine and a few garden games and it’s a fabulous way of getting the whole family together for fresh air and exercise.

You can use Adams for all of your event hire in London and surrounding areas, just view our web site http://www.cateringhire.co.uk for more information.

Easter Party at my House

Easter Sunday at my house is always a family gathering. Hopefully the weather is dry and this year we were lucky, although we have had some wet ones.
The list of guests always includes my best friend of 30 years, my husband and 3 girls, various cousins & their kids, a few aunts and uncles and a couple of very close friends. Not a large party but about 25 of us meet at my house to renew gossip and just because we love to meet up. We play silly games and the obligatory Easter egg hunt, and a lot of eating and drinking.
But here lies the problem, do I get out all my odd china, glassware & cutlery or do I get it from Adams Catering Hire? It’s a no-brainer! Adams Catering Hire makes it so simple; they can help you get event hire for your function.
30 large plates/small plates & bowls
30 knives, forks & spoons
50 tumblers and 50 wine glasses
10 serving plates & bowls and serving cutlery
30 linen napkins (so much nicer than paper)

And, an extra fridge – it’s been a hot Easter and it kept the beer and wine cool.
They will deliver, collect & even WASH UP. All you do after the party is put the equipment back in the specially designed boxes. It’s just so easy!
This all meant that on the day I had all the right equipment, all to hand, no searching for an extra plate for an extra guest or having to wash up a glass before you could have a drink.
Adams Catering Hire can provide just the basic equipment like mine for a few guests or for a huge banquet for 1000’s of guests.
So, for your next little party – give Adams a call – we can provide event hire in London for you too.

Adams Catering Hire recently had the great job of delivering to The Museum of Everything in Sharpleshall Street, London NW1 on behalf of The Zetter Hotel.

Well, what a combination.

You had the great chefs of The Zetter preparing a meal fit for a king at a venue with a wonderful ambience many would envy.

And as from 13th October the Museum of Everything is set to display an eclectic collection of art from British pop artist, Sir Peter Blake.

Simply entitled Exhibition#3, the installation will be the largest ever created by the legendary artist, who was inspired by Beatles memorabilia, his love of self-taught art and anonymous artefacts.

As part of the Frieze art fair, the exhibition will showcase new and non-traditional art by artists from around the world.

The exhibition also includes a recreation of the great Victorian show Mr Potter’s Museum of Curiosities, which inspired many artists such as Damien Hirst.

The small yet well-established museum will reveal its new exhibition next month, following the success of its first two exhibitions, Exhibition#1 and Exhibition#2.

Canapes, bowl food & shots

22 Sep

Canapes, bowl food & shots are the latest way to feed your guests easily.

There are several major benefits for the Client for this sort of event not least being the choice that can be given but also a smaller venue is need as standing guests take less space than seated.  There is also the factor of furniture that does not need to be brought in.

The delights of these smaller portions are perfect, you can experiment with food and colours that perhaps you wouldn’t with a large plated meal. Guests have a chance to sample exotica that they may not have experienced before and it gives them all a showcase of the Caterers talents.

Next on the list is dishes and glassware to serve the delicious morsels in, Adams Catering Hire hold a wide selection of miniture dishes and bowls in many colours to compliment the food to be served.  Two of the most popular being the traditional white tasting bowl with small fork for a larger serving or the small teardrop canape spoon in black or white for a bite sized portion.

Adams Catering Hire were once again pleased to contribute to another successful event held in aid of  ’Help for Heroes‘.

Aitch Group organised a Charity Gala Dinner & Dance at Chigwell Hall on Saturday 11th September 2010.  Held in the marquee in the grounds of this beautiful old building, guests were entertained in true old fashioned style.

It all started with a Full Military Tattoo and champagne reception and followed by a superb menu prepared by local Caterers, Ashbys and with a signature dish that was created by Anthony Worral-Thompson.

Music was provided by Bootleg Beatles and a celebrity compere entertained everyone immensely.

Aiming to  raise £125,000 for two very worthy charities:  ‘The Rifles Regimental Trust: Care for Casualties Appeal’ and ‘The Warrior Programme’, the event was a great way to do it.

Proceeds from the Help the Heroes gala will benefit ‘The Rifles Regiment Care For Casualties Appeal’ and ‘The Warrior Programme’.

An Auction was held and there was even a tank up for auction.

The Thames Revival celebrates vintage glamour, classic boats and the golden days of sailing.

For one weekend only, enjoy the opportunity to step back in time by entering St Katharine Docks to marvel at a full display of historic vessels, and get into the spirit of things by dressing to suit your favourite maritime era. Admire hearty fishing smacks, rub gunwales with the finest racing yachts, and hear the tooting of a steam tug as it punctuates the silky purrings of upriver motor launches.

In Centre Basin there are all sorts of things to watch, from a ‘Row of War’ to boating demonstrations. Ashore, you can find a variety of maritime stalls displaying traditional things such as boat-building skills, or take the time to soak up the atmosphere in one of the many bars and restaurants with waterside view.

Two boats in particular have made epic voyages to arrive at the Thames Festival and should not be missed. The Fryderyk Chopin, the biggest sailing boat of its type in the world, will be moored at St Katharine’s Pier having set sail from Poland in June. And artist Filip Jonker will sail into port from the Netherlands in De Furie, the first man to make the journey in a tugboat made entirely from cardboard.

Stalls and activities include the following:

Try an Oyster Stall

Wood Carving Stall

Paper Boat Race Stall

Rope Making Stall

Make a Statement with the Crystal Ice Chair

2 Sep

What a fantastic looking chair. Guaranteed to provoke comments like ‘WoW‘ at your next event.

This chair came onto the event scene about a year ago and has proved to be an outstanding winner in every catagory. From a smart summer wedding to a nightclub, the crystal ice chair can provide the look thats needed to look fresh and awe inspiring. As with many chairs the seat pads are inter changeable from ivory faux leather, to a large choice of plain colours to match your theming.

The chairs are injection moulded from a polycarbonate resin which is incredibly strong, yet it allows a certain amount of flex to give added comfort compared to wooden and metal alternatives. They are also
completely translucent which means their appearance can be transformed when subjected to different lighting effects
  • Made from 100% recyclable materials so they’re greener than green
  • Immensely strong and durable (practically bulletproof)
  • UV resistant which means they don’t discolour in sunlight
  • Seat Pads are interchangeable
  • Appearance changes under coloured light
  • 100% waterproof so they can be used outdoors (not the seat pads though)

Dress them up with a few simple flowers to look fresh and clean or put a spotlight on  to jazz it up and make it shine. Its your choice, but whatever you do its sure to outshine its nearest neighbour the gilt banqueting chair. So if you need chair hire and you want something to talk about, call Adams Catering Hire, and get the chair that dreams are made of.
